I need your opinion on my boat. My 2000, two step, Daytona 25 w/ 502mpi and Bravo 1, 26p prop turns 4500 rpm @ 70mph. Seems a little low on the rpm side. What do you think? AM I getting all I can out of this stock setup? What can do to get a little more out of her? Love the boat, rides great in rough or smooth. I just need a little more speed (don't we all!!!)
    Any responses are appreciated.

Oh yea, The Bravo 1 is a 1.50 ratio.
    Thanks!

4500 rpm, 26-pitch prop and 1.50 gears work out to be a theoretical speed of 76.7 mph. The 25 Daytona should have about an 8% slip factor. This brings the calculated speed to 70.6, So I don't think slip is your problem. What Prop are you running? We shipped all the 502, bravo 1, 1.50 gear, 25 Daytona's with Bravo 1 26 pitch props. Is the boat a bow rider or do you have a lot of weight in the front. How much fuel did you have in the tanks at the time? Were there a lot of people in the boat? Trim angle can also be a factor. What altitude are you running. What was the air temperature, What fuel was in the tanks? All will have an effect on top speed. You might want to have the motor checked. The standard 25 Daytona with your set up should run around 77/78 mph.

    Hey Mike,
You are correct, mine was shipped with a Bravo 1 26p. It is not a bowrider, it is a regular deck. I am at 438 ft. above sea level. Only me (215 lbs) and my 4 year old son (40 lbs), he loves speed like his old man, were in the boat. 75 degrees, 5 mph wind, lake water temp was 80 degrees. Gas tanks were half full on driver side and 75% full on left side. Trim was just above the "up arrow" on the Eliminator trim gauge.
Gas was pump gas 87 octane.
I don't recall ever getting this boat over 4500 rpm's. I should be pulling more than that shouldn't I? What is meant by having the motor checked? I like the sound of 77/78 much better. Any suggestions? Thanks for your help!

My only suggestion would be to try another 26 pitch Bravo 1 propeller. Give me a call @ 909-681-1222. I'll swap the prop you have for another. Give the new one a try and see what happens.

RickerTx, in what condition is your prop? Original untouched, "modified" or fixed after getting damaged?

Thanks for the offer Mike. I will probably call you this week. My Bravo 1 prop is original untouched and undamaged. Talk to you soon.
