I know we been pretty quiet latley but I finally got somethin to crow about.
The wife and I spent 5 days on the mississppi and put well over 100 miles on the "SOCK" and I never turned a wrench other than topping off the bowl lube and greasing the thrust bearing. I was impressed with her performance.
    (The boat..... not the wife.)
We started out for 2 days on pool 15 between Davenport and Muscatine.
We got to hang out at my sisters place on the river and boat. It was great! http://www.hotboatpics.com/pics/data...ON_008-med.jpg
We left the boat overnight on their dock. It was kinda nice not having to pull it. Unfortunatly we never got enough wind to take out the "Blowboat".

The no wind and no other boats made for some good roosterin http://www.hotboatpics.com/pics/data...ON_011-med.jpg
The next afternoon we went out on pool 14 between davenport and LeClaire
It's a pretty small pool so pretty much just ran the channel. That evening we met INEEDAV from the boards at his house and checked out his V-Drive. Pretty nicely rigged unit. I wanted a ride but he said I'd have to squat down in front and hold onto the fuel cell. I'm almost glad it rained or I would have been tempted. LOL
The last 2 days we spent on pool 13 between LeClaire and Clinton. We ran end to end a couple times, up into 12 and ran some sloughs as well. It sure beat the hell out of running on our lake for a change. We visited a number of beaches along the way as well.

On pool 15 I got my chance!
    THE TARGET!

    THE HIT!

Well not really a hit...The barge traffic and the scardey wife kept me from really droppin the hammer. I think those workrs on the bridge would have been cussin me if the timing was a little better.
All in all our first boat vacation since we usually take the bike vacations was a huge success.

Sure left a scum line on the boat after 5 days though. Hafta deal with that yet. Or maybe I'll just paint it this winter.....HMMMM
    NOPE! AIN'T GONNA DO IT!!!!
I don't hafta worry about it bouncin off docks....When we tie up with other folks I just hafta say "You better worry about your boat". I think the
"DIRTY SOCK" is gonna STAY that way.
    Peace Man!
