Just wondering what RPM'S you think the 049 heads with larger valves and port work, with a bowl blend would be good to?

So what would you estimate a 468,10:1 Comp, OT Headers, with the same head work?... 232/237, 550/554 lift, 110 lobe sep. Stealth Intake, 715 Holley Vac. Sec.

I ran your engine specs. through "Desk top Dyno" and it said 450 hp. at 5000rpm with 498 ft.lbs. at 3500 rpm. From what I have read in Hot Rod magazine , it is supposed to be faily acurate .

Well kinda close ...spinning an Aggressor A (in a very tight pump)that is like a Berk 2-A at 5200 rpm with baffels in...just did that yesterday, great air day. Mr. Moore e-Mailed me an estimate of about the 525 range. Thanks for your results though.
I was running my bud with his new Sanger Super Jet, against my 21 Daytona...He got me after the hole shot, but not for long...but then I mowed him down mid 1/4 mile...He's adding HP...oh no!

I think it would have been closer if I knew what your heads flowed. Being large oval ports , I guessed at around 260 cfm at your .550"lift , your heads probably flow a little more than that, making more power. Besides that the program is pretty trick even if it is within 10%.

West Coast Dave: it came back as 658 hp @ 7000 with 594 lbs. tq. @ 5000. That sounds like a stout motor . Air flow is everything . This should be pretty acurate being I had the flow chart for your heads from an old "Super Chevy" magazine. Have you ever "dynoed" the motor to see if this is close?

Thanks for the numbers!! We haven't made the cam change yet. That will be during the winter rebuild. We want to go to an aftermarket rod and make the cam change from an old Isky. When we bolted on the rectangle port Merlins the engine really came alive. I will let you know dyno numbers when we do it. We have access to one here in Fresno and you can compare your program. Thanx again!!
