Thread: Panther Shift Cable Installation

Bought a 21' Tahiti, Panther pump was in pieces. Bought a new housing, all seals, etc. Now, got it all together and installed but---there weren't any pieces left from the previous owners tear down, and I'm not sure how the shift cable goes thru the drive unit and hooks up. Any one with pics or info? Don't know if there's supposed to be fittings that go from the drive unit to the cable.

There should be a 90 degree piece of linkage that mounts to the right side of the pump and the reverse linkage is hooked to that. The actual cable is bolted thru the transom where the pump bolts up on the right side, there should be a small hole for it. The cable connects to the 90 degree piece. Here's a pic, no real close up but you can kinda see it.
