You may remember the big hole I cut in the hydro http://www.***boat.com/forums/showth...light=Jethydro
    Here's the newest project.
    Testing will start this week.
Last ran the boat only did 55.
This boat has a delta bottom so it`s gonna take some time to get the set-up right but I`m sure we`ll see a big improvement right from the get-go.
I love to take on these projects. "Yes" you are seeing it right, We took out a JE and replaced it with a JC.
This boat has a 350 SBC in it :crossx: :argue:

I knew you wanted to see one done so I posted this one for ya.
I still havent done the SJ because now I need another pump as I had the boat sold but the buyer never showed with the money. I sold the pump I bought for the SJ to a friend because the buyer didnt want to do the change out. Now I`m back to a lake boat that needs a pump...lol..
Anyway, now you can see what it takes to do the job.
P.S. I forgot to say that we will start the testing with the berk bowl that's on it now but we do have an Aggressor 9 vane on the way. We have an Aggressor impeller that I had Duane cut to a C.

So why go to a JC from JE? Is there a horsepower reason or do you just like the JC better?

The "JE" has no tuning ability and has a small intake opening as it`s an insert pump not intended for speed but more as a sky boat.
You could say that the JC has more options for tuning and will take on more water.

Did you have to move the motor at all for the new pump?

    Yes
up about 1/4" and back about a 1/2"
but I`m sure it can be done where ever your motor is setting now. We just wanted to try a few things.

The JC or JG pump with a full blown intake loads the pump so much better at speed than the Econo series pump does. We just did the same thing to an SJ Taylor last week that is getting a Blown BBC. We also made the bottom round and installed one of our 5 degree low profile race intakes with shoe and ride plate. The jury is still out on the results on that one too. When the customer gets the engine installed, we are going to try to set up the hardware for him. We'll post results too.
