I am going to install 4 PPI amps with a toatal of 3500 - 4000 RMS Watts Combined. How many batteries are you guys running to support this size system to run while parked on the shore?? Thanks

I am running the Honda genny. Its cost more up front, but well worth it. My stereo which is the same size will kill two batteries in under an hour. The genny set up cost about $1400 with the power supply but in the long run it will save you money. Batteries need to be replaced often when beat up like that. If you really want batteries I would run the Optimas with 4 of them dedicated to the stereo. You can adjust that number depending on your listening habits.
    Good Luck,
    Wet

I would do it right from the start, and go with a genny set-up.

Honda EU2000 is more then enough power. Do not get the EU1000. You also need the Cascade APS-75 power supply. It filters out the noise from the generator. So don't get a cheap knock off. Its about $330-$380. Good luck with the wife. Do it like I do, buy the stuff and when it shows up try and look cute or hide. Which ever is best for you that day.

2 to maintain a constant power supply. No need for any more then that.

Don't ever speak in absolutes. I could do a 10,000 watt system that two generators couldn't keep up with. That APS is only 75 amps output, my system draws between 100-140 amps at 3/4 volume.
As with anything, your mileage may vary.
Do you use one of these?
(APS is only 75 amps output)
