The HP500 is turning the Bravo-3 @ 5,500 and could go to 6,000. The prop's are 26 pitch. Can I have them repitched? and to what?

I don't know what rpm that HP500 is supposed to max out at, but there are two higher pitch sets for a B3. 28 and 30. And now there are "cupped" versions. You could have yours worked to add cup, or you could buy another set of 28s or 30s.

I'm running a 502 EFI with a B3 and a set of labbed re-pitched 28's and it will max out at 5100. Go to a bigger prop size most likely 30's.

    I've been told 5400. I'll look for a set of 28's. Thanks

Your rev limiter on that HP500 will let it turn 6k rpm? Are you sure your tach is correct? Did you have someone set your rev limiter? I'm thinking stock setting shouldn't be more than 5300/5400.

Would the motor be able to handel 6,000 rpm? Are they built well enough to do that? My v-drive chevy would tach 6,200.

That motor has lots of good parts, forged internals and is rollerized. 6k should be fine for it, on the other hand the cam is set up to make power around 5k or so. You would be best to prop it correctly and keep it in it's power band. If your running it higher you're making less hp and weearing it out quicker. The carb 500hp's had problems with valve springs wearing out, I'm not sure what the verdict is on the efi hp500's is.

28's will be to small you might want to go 30's. I had to have Bronson Hill load up my 28's that are at their max pitch now at about 29 running my new 502 EFI at 5100 with the stick all the way foward.
But on the other hand I have a Essex 21 Sterling what kind of boat is it in?
