A JA is not split and a JC is? I think thats right.

Early JA pumps had a 1 piece bowl while later models had a split bowl.(I have one of the split bowl JAs) problem with the JA pumps is that there's no rear seal on the thrust bearing to hold the grease in. All of the JC pumps I've seen have had a one piece bowl.

it is a split bowl. are they better than a reg. c bowl?
The split bowl is better in my opinion due to the fact that you can add accessories to it like wedges, droop, snoot , rooster booster, diverter ect.
As far as the flow rate between the two goes I haven't a clue.
what pump do you have ? JA or JC ?

i have a jc pump.
i have a jc pump.
I have one as well, although I have considered converting in the event of trying a droop or snoot or something. I already have a Place diverter on it, but not sure if it would carry over in the conversion. Hate to have to buy another diverter though....
hey devilman if you have a jc pump now with the diverter and go to a JG split bowl the diverter will still work I believe. they interchange for those 2 pumps (bowls)
