Dave, thanks for posting up the pictures, what a ride. The boat we got is an 85 hull and a Bitz/Deaver.

I don't know if this is it or not...it's taken in Chowchilla in 1982. I think both of these boats were called the "Red Barron" in later years.

...not to be confused with the "Red Barron" from the 1960's! This was taken at Ski Land in '67

This thread is worthless without pictures.
    Such a tease.
    The suspense is killing me.

I don't think Harrison from Hemi Engineering still owned it in the early eighties. But, I'm pretty sure the number stayed 310 and the boat was renamed the "Red Baron" with engine builder Gaylord Wethered doing the driving.

We talked to Clyde Parkhurst yesterday. He is in a hospital for a "tuneup" but says he has hundreds of pictures of Hemi Eng Special and Red Baron. We will just have to wait and see. Being that this is an 85 boat it must be a Red Baron. The boat has now been stripped except for the fully enclosed needle bearing oil encapsluated prop shaft housing. The engine rails had so many holes, Chrysler,BBC etc., better to start over. Hull has at least 2 paint jobs on it but original appears to be marroon and white. As to posting pictures, I am in So Cal and the boat is in No Cal. Of the three of us involved in this little find I am the only one capable, "barely" of posting pictures and will do so when I make a roadtrip, hopfully withwin 2 weeks.
