    aluminum on a motor, intake, heads on a
    fresh water motor.
    how long will they last?
    besides weight and heat
    will they do better then cast?

    Depends;
    If ya leave the boat in the water constantly, you WILL get galvanic corrosion problems between the Iron block, steel shafts/props, and aluminum heads/manifolds/props. An anode/cathode system would be mandatory on the boat, and maintained well.
    If it goes in and comes out, and stays out most of the time (like my boat), the engine water level drops, the drive dries off/out, and the water path needed for dissimilar metals corrosion (galvanic) vanishes.
