This was just too good to be true. I knew from the beginning this guy would not be tried for this murder.
What sucks is the country he was in surrendered all legal rights (so that he could be tried here for the murder) which also means he can't be PUT BACK into the prison back over there. Basically he just got out of jail, and a free plane ride back to the states with no repercussions.

I'd say you're pretty much spot on. Figured that's what he was doing from about the time he came forward. Hmm, what can I do to get out of jail in Thailand.... :idea:
Personally I think they should just shoot him anyway on prinicple alone!

I sure hope this is not true. Surely there was some clause that would put him back in Bangkok if charges here were not dropped.

It was obvious from the beginning that the guy was not guilty. His story didn't jive, his ex-wife said he wasn't in Colorado, they'd looked at the guy years ago & dismissed him as nut who was not involved. In Thailand he told the same stories he'd been telling here & they immediately put him on live TV. The American media got hold of the story and even though they all knew of the history of this guy they ran with it 24/7 just to pump up ratings, just like the Natalee Holloway story. A real low point in American TV journalism - boy that's an oxymoron.

That warrant has been out for awhile. They will extradite, I am sure. Even tho the charges are misdemeanors, theoretically, there is a felony charge on the books for fleeing the jurisdicton they could stick him with as well.
A conviction for violating the Misd. Kiddie Porn charges, is, I believe a free ticket into the "Megans Law" Database, and, since they have his DNA, and I am led to believe he gave it voluntarily, it will now go into the system for comparison with all the unsolved cold-cases out there that didn't have the notariety that this one did. Sadly, there are thousands of them.
It will also be out there for the future, as will his 290 P.C. sex-offender registration info, a program which was tailor-made for this guy. He is a Pedophile-predator of the worst kind.
Ending his existence would be my first/best choice, but this is better than nothing.
I kinda figured this would come up snake eyes.
