Daytona with whacker

I just purchased an 87 21ft. daytona, it came with a blown up erude 300, I have a erude 200 on another boat, I have contimplating putting the 200 on the daytona just to take it out. Who has a similiar boat with smaller whackers on it? Just looking for some specs speed, how does it do out of the hole, and so forth. Thanks for the help.

21 is a bit large for a 200. you will have to be more careful on prop choice. you can have decent holeshot, but you'll be limited on the top end. a topend prop is going to suffer out of the hole.

put the 200 on and have some fun. I would think you could still run in the mid 70s with a 200.

thanks for the response, I figured cant hurt to try it out. It will be intresting to see what it will do.

24 pitch to have decent holeshot/acceleration. IF you can spin it to 6500rpm, you would still be running around 70mph. Fast enough to have fun. If you run a bigger pitch 28-30, your holeshot will suffer and a 200 might not plane out well if you have alot of people/gear. let me know how it goes, if your run out to the lake, drop me a line I'll try to join you...
