Jerry Hicks is # 9 in the 6 sec bracket. We are # 9 in the 7 sec bracket. Don't know the others. Too busy to keep track.
We ran a 7.052 ET @ 122 mph. We have a new driver, so put a pretty mild tune up on the motor.
Figured the drivers in the 6 sec class would just be too much for the first time out for him to deal with. Had some rain, but beautiful day today. Supposed to be about 76 *.

We got our Placecraft in the 11th position in the 6 second class. Had a valve seat problem and barely got it back together in time to make the trip to Malvern. I wasn't able to make the trip with Steve but have managed to help tune a little over the phone. First time in 12 years that I haven't been to SITC. Talked to Steve about 11:00 CST today and they were calling the first set of boats to warm. Pretty cool there this morning but the sun is out and as of right now, no wind. I understand that there was a little problem yesterday afternoon. Supposedly was announced that due to weather concerns that qualifying was done for the day then a little while later, boats were being called back to the water for qualifying. My understanding was that some drivers had left and others popped the top. Due to this there were some drivers that were kocked out of the field due to not making that last round of qualifying. Not sure of all the circumstances, but that is how the story came to me.

Also heard that there was only about 100 boats there which is a relatively light turnout for that event. About 30 of those were attempting to qualify for the 6 second class.
