I use copper headgaskets and spray them with copper spray. I havent had any leaks yet. All of the stuff I have done in the past, I have installed them dry. All my catalogs at work(fel-pro and victor) says to install dry.

Do you put your head gaskets on dry? or do you use some kinda sealant. My application is a jetboat. Lets hear from the gurus. Budlight

For coppers:
Ultra blue silicone seal around all water ports...both sides of head gasket. Seal block studs also if the holes are not blind.
Others: Dry.
Put them on just as for any car engine. I think the coppers take a sealant. Standard gaskets (including the MLS ones) I believe are instructed to be installed dry. Follow the gasket instructions.
I've always installed them with GM sealer[like permatex #2] for marine applications. But I'm open to suggestions. Budlight
Cooper Coat...Let it set for a few min's so it gets tacky..Never a failure on my 455 OLDS....
