Several Online service manual sites out there.
Some have info on everything about everything.
Don't know if any libraries have access to any yet.
At work, I can sometimes access the sites if I'm at our Fleet Services Dept.
Mitchell on demand, All Data Online, some come with an extra set of Cd's too.
They give ya wireing diagrams, tech bulletins tune up ect on everything that rolls.
We have every type of vehicle you can imagine.
One Site was talking about how Toyota freezes their engine blocks and heads on some models. Then in assembly, the gaskets form a unique seal as the assembly thaws out, and the heads fit a bit better causing the whole contraption from crank to valve train to line up, seal and run better.
They mentioned Hendric motor racing does too. Makes a BFD in performance if done right.
I remember when I was a kid, the BFD with German cars was to lap the heads before putting them back on the engine block. It helps the old style head gaskets seal better among other things.
The Porche dealer by our house had a big lapping room where big flat wheels of various "grits" would float heads and lap them.
I was a little kid, and didn't really get the whole process, but I remember my dad and his friends taking their heads in there for work, before "bench work" was no longer accepted by the dealer.
Porche had a limited edition racing engine that was lap'd so perfectly, it used no head gasket. I think it was the 904, but I'm not sure.
Both the block and the head were lap'd.
German car dealers always smelled so neat.
Online tech manuals,, pretty cool reading.
    Anyone have access?:
