Why not forget the transom housing and make a race plate?

It cleans up the boat and makes the pump soooo easy to work on. Stops having to deal with all of that silicone every time you want to work on the pump, and you can change an impeller or wear ring in 20 minutes or less. All it takes is a 3/16" piece of aluminum.

I thought about that but the hand hole or cleanout is right in the middle of the transom, half inside and half outside. I could still make a plate that wend over the hand hole but what if i ever needed to take it off ? ? ? How often do people take their cleanout covers off ? ?

Knock on wood, in my 12 yrs of jetboats Ive never had to take one off. My last set-back I covered the front bolt with the plate. Heres a pic.

How far is your bowl from the transom? I have this hanging in the garage but not sure if it will work for you.

if i pull the 2 smaller side plates off i can pull the pump out completly without haveing to disconect anything or worry about pulling the large plate off which is siliconed on really well.

I was @ Tom Papp racing this past week and noticed that he had a few fiberglass exteded T.A. housings and in good shape, you might want to call him if that is the route you want to go, funny thing is, they seem to be half the weight as the stock alum. ones.
I am not too sure what transom degree is on them, but you could call!

I know that Chris midciff out of Tommys shop also has one for sale too, Tommy would know what your are talking about, just mention the yellow CP that was destroyed, thats the boat it came off of.

Any idea on the length extended on the angled transom ? ? ? I guess you could lay it flat on the transom mounting surface and measur thru the hole to the top and give me a distance ? ? ? And maybe a pic. I would rather have alum. but your definately in my price range !!!
