An 8-71 with a low compression engine is the way to go on gas. There's alot of set-up and fabrication involved.

I have a really nice Blower Shop 14 71 for sale in the spam section, check it out, you would be able to use all but the intake. I would sell the entire thing minus the intake. This was used on a race/river boat and worked well. I boat turnkey and have the burning desire to build a turbo motor.
I was thinking an 8 or 1071 would be plenty for my river boat with 532BBF Also if the economy doesn't get better I will not do anything....My engine runs GREAT as it is........Just wanting a blower for the bling
