to first 200 mile in quarter, it was past 5:00 p.m. so race board had to get city fathers, to ok a back up run for record. i belive the 2nd. run 203&change. and the first run was 201&change. also it could have been 1970. but it was one of the two. yes i was their. MRIRONASS

Thought we already settled this. Gary Gabelich In the Sanger BFH Crisis made the first 200mph pass. It was at Perris Ca., and I believe it was in the last session on Saturday afternoon. Like Sept. 13 1969 if I remember correctly. Don't think it was backed up, but it was the first. My dad was there, didn't see the pass, he was on the other side of the berm working on his boat. He told me he heard the boat make a strong pass, then heard the crowd go wild. He scurried up the berm and saw the history making numbers on the scoreboard. http://free.***boat.net/ubb/wink.gif

72, Yes we settled it, Gabelich DID run the first over 200 mph pass at SkiLand. Larry Hill in Mr. Ed However held the first over 200mph record in NDBA and this record stood for some 5 years. BTW in 1969 I was i year old so I don't remember, and I wasn't there. I was at home about 45 minutes away in Upland tucked in my crib with a teddy bear. PS IronAss, I believe it was 1970 at Marine Stadium.

i was hoping my memory, was ok, now that i am 62,it slips a bit. they were fun day.ray,
007 larry the shoe in climax, crowds would
line the beach. i still have hondo rb, sanger mini cruiser, both, are cherry. once you get into it , you cant get out.

Anybody recognize this boat from the early to mid 70's. This was taken at Spanaway Lake, in Tacoma, Wa. I guess the other pics don't come up because of the address change at webshots. Lets see if this works.
