I have to walk on egg shells over here.
As one of only 3 hard core left wingers on the boards, anyone would feel this way. So why not try to relax, think, and enjoy all the attention your opposition views generate. Rather than stereotyping, name calling, and demonstrating the intolerance and narrow mindedness you claim to be above????
You also might want to try and get a boat and spend some time on or near the water with some of these folks. After a few beers you might understand us better.:wink:

I understand ignorance. I just choose not to feed it. It's been in the news since just after Afghanistan that this Administration has tied Iraq to 9/11. I'll agree that since then they have done the side-step shuffle with the deftness of Fred Astaire when confronted with it. That's their job. But when people like you dance with them.. you just look silly. It's not your job. You're not on TV. You're not up for re-election and by no means, are you facing judgement by your peers. You're just a very very loyal slow witted righty that thinks you're a somebody because you're a Republican. That's how sales works. You meet the nicest people on a Honda.

The problem with using the term "Righty" to describe me (or anyone else) is, that while the term "leftist" or "Left Winger" has a historical meaning pertaining to the left side of the french parliament, where they sat the Communists and Socialists in the late 1800s, a "Rightist" or a "Right Winger" can be any non-Communist or non Socialist, from a Monarchist to a Libertarian. It's kind of sad to think that you are narrow minded enough to think, that just because someone is not a Communist, Socialist, or Utopian Socialist (like you) that they must be "slow witted". Hmmmm, that term "Intolerant Left" is coming to mind again...

One of the reasons I like to come on here is to challenge my memory etc...That is why I never post links or cut and pastes of articles.
Why do you think I'm using Google anyways? The stuff I'm saying isn't that detailed or esoteric.
Oh wait, on another thread I did look up the Kellogg-Briand Pact of 1928.
But I did not use Google. I used this thing called a book (to make sure of the proper name and spelling) does that count???

I seem to remember a certain Poster wondering why there had to be such division between the Left / Right, Dems /Repubs. Perhaps it doesn't apply to the Poster. Divide and conquer style politcal debate mixed with arrogant, "I'm right, you're wrong." attitude seem to be his forte.
There is a point that I really don't understand. If a person believes that the war in Iraq was necessary to stop future threats to the US and the freeworld they are therefore warmongers, folks that "like" war.
If it were possible to have everyone in the US read a factual nonbiased account of history of the world and middle east in particular, then have them vote on whether Sudam Hussein's regime, not Iraq, were a threat to the US and the world, I'd wager the great majority would vote "yes, Saddam Hussein is a threat." His past actions and attacks prove this out.
And this is the real point of the war, ridding the world of a threat to peace and humanity.
Unfortunately the war has been controlled from the White House and floors of the House and Senate rather than from the Pentagon. If our professional military was running the show there's no doubt this thing would be over and Iraq secured. Korea and than Viet Nam started this trend and Iraq has proven out how innept our politicians are at handling the job.
There in lies the true problem.

There's no point in proving it. There was evidence in those dreaded cut and pastes it's a fact. Any moron with a TV knows it's a fact. There's no post in this world you would believe. A letter from your own President went ignored. I could post a thousand links - and there ARE tens of thousand available. You're like the creationists and their argument that Noah's Ark and the great flood are scientific fact. Since we can't prove it isn't true.. then they assume that's proof it is. Wrong side of the rock? You're pretty cavalier for someone who wields the power of life and death. I consider my vote very important. I know that the slightest mistake can lead to hundreds, even thousands, of deaths. Young people are not only a resource, I happen to own one or two and love them deeply. I've read hundreds of your posts. And those of old Texan and the rest of the think tank around here. And whether you'll admit it or not, they paint a pretty accurate picture of you. On the internet, even though some of these people know you so you pretend to hold back, you let your guard down, and your brain spills out. The overwhelming and unequivocal concensus is that once you commit to a candidate, you will follow him straight to hell. You would rather send your entire country to hell, than admit you were wrong. In my eyes, you're (y'all) are no less than treasonous ovine that want nothing more than to high five after a rollicking good episode of Hannity and Combes.
