lets see you zero your bubble level on the bottom of a boat and set a strut at 7.5 degrees.
I never use this tool as a level. I use it to set angles referenced to something other then the earth.
I also use it to set angle plates on my mill when making brackets and stuff were getting down to .1 second is not needed.
np just give me a 4 ft level and a set of wedges cut at X*. you know the way it use to be done.
I'm not saying its not a useful tool. I am just shocked that its + or - 10 * plumb or level. that just blows me away. I can get way closer then that just by eye.

lol I agree with that. I could eyeball closer then 10 degrees.
But this tool is more of a protractor. Pretty handy but I'm not tossing my sine plate and Jo block set that's for sure.

I have the one you are looking for. I got it at MSC
    http://www1.mscdirect.com/CGI/NNSRIT...MT4NO=15464903
That be the one SD, I also found it at McMaster Carr online for $198.00. I have a line laser, dot generator, rotory laser, plastic angle finder and what not but I need this tool to do just what you stated....set a strut in my boat. I can finally justify getting it I just hope Santa has not finished packing up the sleigh. Thanks everybody for your time and info. If anyone is intrested go to www.mcmaster.com and type page 2144 into the search box.

Sawtooth, I also have the Spi-tronic Pro 360, but I bought it here (http://www.penntoolco.com/catalog/pr...categoryID=696) for a lot less. Works great. PennTool also has a cheaper version (http://www.penntoolco.com/catalog/pr...ategoryID=6407) from another manufacturer for $99
