A 302 has the same block as a 327.... and they did only make them for the Z28 from the factory for one year.
    R A R E .....
Not very many of them survived. Most Z28's ran around with a 350 because the people had grenaded the 302's.

    Brendella,
I'll get the # for you. He's already asleep, I'm sure. He told me the reason he bought it ws because it made the most HP of the SB engines GM offered as crate motors. I believe they claimed 340hp. He laughs now and says " hell I was young did'nt know anything".

    Huh??? The 67,68,69 Z28's ran 302's. The Z28 became a 350 in 1970.

1967 302 used the same block as the 327 and a 283 small journal crankshaft. Engine had 2 bolt main bearing caps from the factory Casting numbers were either 3892657 or 3903352
1968 302 used the same block as a 327 and 350 and a shorter stroke large journal crankshaft. Engine had 2 bolt main bearing caps in 1968 Casting Number should be 3914678
1969 302 used the same block as a 327 and 350 and a shorter stroke large journal crankshaft. Engine had 4 bolt main bearing caps in 1969 Casting Number should be 3932386
probly more than you wanted or needed to know..........

Anybody have an idea what a 302 short block would be worth. I was bought from chvrolet about 30 yrs ago and cant have over 1500 miles on
Depends what it is, casting numbers and date codes!!!
It will be worth the most to someone restoring an original Z28, if it's the right casting numbers.

Only if the block hasn't been decked and the numbers are still on the block by the head!..

    Earl,
How about tending to your list.
If you aren't the same 302 as the thread poster, post your own thread and don't hijack someone else's. The nerve of some people's kids.

Your 302 sounds like cubic inches and nothing else.
The thread starter sounds like he has an original, unmodified "real" 302.
    Give some space,
    Brian
