I should remind YOU guys that this thread was started as a RELIGIOUS DEBATE thread. It has also been confined to ONE thread, much unlike the more mature and factual diologue in the dozens of political threads. So remember that when you cry and dont like it after posting here.

He has re-hashed some old 19th century material. Reshaping the view of original sin to lessen it or define it out of existence is nothing new. Bahaism, Islam and Mormonism all do it as well as others.

MY morals involve right and wrong as based on human nature. My parents taught me acceptable behavior from unacceptable behavior. Although I try to abide by the laws that govern society as we know it, none of my actions are controlled out of fear of persons or places that are part of your fantasy world.

What you choose to do Tom is up to you. Although the laws, legal laws, some of which echo religious teachings, say that banging you neighbor's wife is Adultry. Based on that, and the fact he may put a cap in you, I would hesitate if there were any chance of being caught. I have no such desire about your neighbor's wife, so I am unqualified to judge your desires. Maybe you could post some pictures,then we could all judge for ourselves. As far as the dog, well, I think frenchie found out a few things about animal mistreatment, but she is your dog. Absolutly no need. I am aware of the re-hashing. It is an old debate and one we most certinly will not resolve here. I simply mentioned the article, because it summerizes how I feel on that issue. I don't think the author is trying to lessen it at all, let alone out of existance. I did not think for a second, that you would agree with it, nor am I (or would I ever be) trying to convince you of it. I've never in my life attempted to convince anyone to adopt my religious views and I suspect I never will.
I'm not an atheist, however I must admit I'm becoming a bit of an agnostic as I grow older.
You are dead on accurate when you point out that atheists are just as prone to being followers as anyone else. Some of the most gullible sheep I have ever met in my life were atheists. However, equating atheism with communism is unfair and inaccurate. One of the most stalwart and brightest anti-communist/socialists ever was Ayn Rand and she happend to be an atheist.
P.S. Please do not think for a second that I am trying to convince you to believe in evolution. It is my understanding that this has just been a discussion, not a mission.
