My "sources", lol, of info (including oldrigger) seems to imply that the intake should be set level with the lifting strakes, side to side. I figure to make a "jig" that will straddle the keel, and set on the inner strakes, so I can level them accurately. Front to back shouldn't be an issue, as I can get a 4 foot level on them. Only thing I have noted, is the general consensus of 4 - 5 degrees difference from the strakes for the suction mounting surface. I have set up the intake, measured it, and determined that it is actually 3.5 degrees from the hull mounting surface to the pump suction housing mounting surface. 4 to 5 degrees should be attainable in this case.
