Water pressure over 25-30 psi can push intake gaskets.... I installed pop off valves in my system as I was seeing upwards of 40 psi and was worried that I would push an intake manifold gasket....

What I had done was we took an industrial stainless steel pop off valve and welded it directly to the crossover in the front of the motor. Then we fooled with springs until we got the block pressure PSI we were looking for.

Merc part number 863208a3 is a pressure relief valve.

It will go inbetween your sea pump and water pump, you'll need to install a dump for the bypass hose.
