Anyone have any info or ideas about converting a jet driven boat to a V Drive.
I have alot of motor and would like to utilize its potential.
    Just a thought.

    BWBT,
I did think about converting my 20 Spectra from jet to v-drive, I priced out what it would cost to convert or just buy a v-drive.
Much cheaper to buy existing v-drive.
Also, most jet boat hulls are not as strong as v-drive hulls.

The lifting strakes are different. The center ones only go back about half way on a v bottom v drive. Also most jets do not have full length stringers. The cav plate hardware will cost more than you would think too. I'm with Brent on this one. But, A friend did convert a jet hydro to a v drive and it turned out better than I would have thought. You might want to ask this question on AZ Don's site.

Thanks Guys, I appreciate the info. My 72` Cheetah does have full length stringers. But as you both said, cost wouldnt warrant the swap.
I may, in the future just buy a drive hull and swap motors. I have 600+ HP on tap and I would love to set it up in a V.

It's more than just cost. The lifting strakes will need to be changed to. I have seen it done though. If you ever do try it I can make most of the hardware that you will need.
