Not to hijack your thread, and I'm by no means a turbo guru, but couldn't you just drill and tap the bypass holes in your turbos, then play with reducers to get them to spool a little quicker?

I'm sure that would probably help, but I think the bigger problem here isn't that the turbos aren't spooling fast enough, but that with 29% gears and an 11-7/8 x 16 three blade prop it's just too tall. I just bought a steel 11-5/8 x 16 three blade (thanks obsessive compulsive) and I'm hoping it works a little bitter. Right now the boat bogs pulling out in third and tops out around 5,000rpm. I'd like to get it up to about 5,500.
