I need some good places to go with the boat in san diego. Does anyone know of any. I'm already going to be going to yuma for a couple of days to the river. but I'm going to be staying in san diego and wanted to check some thins out. Thanks :idea:

There is only two, San Vicente Lake and El Capitain Lake. San V is the bigger of the two and you can get in the water.

You can also put in at Lower Otay in Chula Vista. It is a no water contact lake used primarily for fishing, but you can go for a test drive. There is a 35 mph speed limit, but that isn't really enforced as long as you are reasonable.
They are only open Wed/Sat/Sun.

I go often... beats having to drive 5 hours for a day on the lake.

Years ago I used to go boating and skiing in the Chula Vista part of the San Diego Bay "Bayfront Park" has a public boat-launching ramp . Salt water was not a big deal with our first boat. I believe there are also parts of Mission Bay "Ski Beach boat launch Ramp" also usable.
