air scoop quistion

had a tall air scoop with a stndrd flame arrestor.i since bought a short one thats doesnt accept flame arrestor...would it be possibble to cut the old one in half and use it? stndrd 5" one

buy a new one,they cant be modified and the cost guard label must be on the top!

Will likely not flow enough air with short arrestor, unless a small block perhaps.
