i was wondering what the best top end prop to run is for my 22 daytona with a 300 promax. also what prop height i should be running the motor???, right now the highest the jack plate will get it is 1/2'' above the pad. right now i'm spinning a 24p labbed bravo with 1 1/4" vent holes to 6000rpm. thanks!

How much setback do you have. I have a 300x motor on my DCB and can spin a labbed 30 in cool weather with a light load. I spin a labbed bravo 28 all summer and it runs pretty good. 85-86. Your height sound pretty good at a 1/2 above the pad, i have about a foot of setback and thats where i run with 16-17 lbs of water pressure at WOT

1/2" above is pretty hi imho for a 22 Daytona, doubt you will improve going higher, wouldnt hurt to try tho?If you are just shooting for topend only i think a 30 pitch with light fuel load will do it,but it will be a turd outta hole.the ultimate would be the new Merc labbed PRO ET four blade,i would go with 28 pitch,Internet deal can be had for new ET labbed just below $1K.If the 300 Promax is running to factory specs,i would expect 90+ with this combo.my 22' Stoker did 89.9 on GPS with this prop ussing 250XS Merc hi perf OPtimax, this is with very light load and perfect air (cold)

thanks for the advice, my gear ration is 1.62 that is why i can't spin a bigger bravo. plus the boat is a very heavy hull. i was thinking a 24p lightning et, do i keep the same pitch as the bravo or go up???

I changed my gears from 1:62 to 1:75 when i had the taller gears i used a unlabbed 26 bravo, it was kinda of a pig out of the hole. I think if you stay with a bravo try a labbed 26, should get you in the high 80's. I have heard that the new 4 blade lightning et is the prop for our boats!

The Bravo1s are big diameter 15-1/8" the ETs are only 14-1/2" so you need to go up at least 1 pitch maybe two for the ETs.Go with a 26 Pro ET four blade if your hull is a heavy layup? My buddy runs a 22 daytona (carbon kevlar layup) with a 275hp Merc Verado fourstroke supercharged pig heavy motor and the 28 PRO ET four pushed him to 81mph on GPS with a nonconed fishing style lower unit without even a torque tamer wedge running propshaft at least two inches below bottom

sounds good does anyone have an et prop i can try????. my hull is not a light layup, with a light load it will run 80. i have alot of stereo equipment, my jackplate only brings the motor up to 1/2" at most higher than the pad. my motor is not the 300x motor so thats why i can't spin the 26bravo with 1.62 gears. wish i had it.

DustinThere both rated at 300hp the x is a tad stronger and will rev a tad higher, but not a whole lot there IMO

I heard the new Raker II is supposedly a good prop for an outboard Daytona. Don't know if there's any truth to this, or what size would be best for your boat.
