Ok I got some oval port heads with this boat. I just want to know if they're worth a shit to go say 500-550hp, or if I should just try for some other heads. here's the castings.
    336781.....73-85...oval...OPEN...454, 118cc chamber, 256/114cc ports
and I got a crank not sure if it's steel or cast, casting number:353038

Your head question has been addressed in Gear Heads in the past.
The crank number comes up on mortec.com (www.mortec.com) but doesn't say whether it is cast or forged. There is, however, a very easy way to tell. There is a "parting line" that runs along the crank. If it is a very narrow ridge, the crank is cast. If it is about 1/2" wide and fairly smooth, it is forged. A cast crank has a much coarser finish(much like the surface of a block or head) than a forged crank.

The answer to your question about those heads is yes. You can easily make 500-550 with them. They will need some port work and bigger valves but it can easily be accomplished with the right combination of parts.

Cast or steel, that crank should be OK for those power levels also...

Cast will be fine but if you can get a hold of a forged one within your budget I'd do it.
