i have a 69 stevens 18 ft v haul and im looking at setting it up to seat 4 comfortably. so before you think im crazy, let me explain. i want to cut the top right bellow the top body line, basically a few inches below the top of the boat. and raise it up and add 4-6 inches to it and glass in some board and glass the seam on the outsside. and where the hump for the dash starts just in front of the dash on the hood area, i would cut that across and take out 8-10 inches in front of that and move the dash forward that distance. and board and glass it from the inside and glass the gap on the outside, and put in all the needed bracing and gussets. with this mod i could move the front seat forward 8 inches and that should give me enough room to have a forward facing rear seat with enough room for adults. the reason for raising the hieght of the top of the boat is added leg room under the dash, since its a pain getting in and out. and i think if done right it could look good if done right. anybody know if its possible to do this and keep retain its stregnth after glassing it back together.

Are you currently sanding it? Is that why it looks like that?
