Every hose on mine is 5/8, and those are factory, so when i finally go all braided, it will be -10AN.

Cool, Now I know I can go with # -10 since all my water hoses are 5/8". Thanks!
    Think of it in 1/16's
    -8 = 8 - 1/16's or 1/2 inch
    -10 = 10 - 1/16's or 5/8 inch
    -12 = 12 - 1/16's or 3/4 inch
    etc . . .
    GOT IT

-8AN here. I've got a valve on it to reduce the flow to the motor, but I leave it wide open. Never had a problem with too much, or too little water.
Picture shows -8 in (top line) supply from pump to motor and -8 dump (bottom line). Both valved, but both kept wide open at all times. For mine -8 seems to be the perfect size.

What motor are you running? or does it matter?

It's a 466 BBF with around 500 hp. It spins an Aggressor AB to about 5200-5300 rpm. I wouldn't think it would make a difference from one motor to the next though.

Well, until I switch everything over to braided lines, I'll just use the 5/8" rubber hose already there, WHEN my motor gets back from the shop. Hopefully this week. SUmmer's almost gone and I've only had it out once since I bought it.
