I've heard them term before, but what exactly is speedcoat??
I'm in the process of painting the bottom after spending a regoddamndickulas amount of time on the bottom. I've got some SpeedCoat that will go on the bottom after I spray the Concept Singlestage and would like to see how/where others have put the Speedcoat. It's a v-bottom Brendella (similar to a Southwind) and there's a post on here somewhere with my project.
Anybody got some pics? Thanks a bunch..........John

ITS A WASTE OF TIME IF THE BOTTOM IS FRESHLY PAINTED AND SMOOTH

It's a spray on graphite coating. Idea is to relieve some of the surface tension of the water against
the bottom. You can buy it in gallons, quarts, or spray cans.

I would agee. I shot mine, but it was because I blueprinted the bottom and didn't want to gelcoat it.
It's way way cheaper and easier. I knew it wouldn't hurt anything. I seriously doubt just shooting the
bottom with slip plate, speed coat etc. would result in any gains though.
This is what mine looked like after blueprinting, then priming, then speed coating.
Like the impatient one said, If it's already painted or gelcoated......just go with that.

Maybe on the other end of the boat than you're used to but thought I'd post the pics anyway
Cheers
Thanks X man but damn, is it just me or is that bassakwards?
Thanks for the replies guys. I'm using it regardless of what I ultimately gain. Hopefully by the time I add everything up the outcome will hopefully be a positive.
Thanks Squirt. Appreciate the reply
Keep the pics coming guys
Haha yea no worries I figured that may throw you for a loop lol
We paint that on alot of our boats but we use it more for a bit of abrasion protection on bare aluminum when you're sliding over a gravel bar or something. On that particular boat in the pictures it also looks better seeing as its a "side paint" boat.
The Steptec style hull does not need it in the rear area as in the pics you can see the centerpod is actually Qt100 steel and the sides are stepped
Cheers
Regardless of all the Steptech babble, you ruined me when you posted the following picture.........prick I'd have a picture of that stuck to the ceiling of our bedroom if I could pull it off.....sick, sick sick looking boat..

No problem. It's real easy to use. Just tape, spray and wipe it shiny with a dry towel.

Dan, you mean you don't let it dry before you wipe it down?
