You would think a boating question would get a faster response.
Anyone know the tech info on this? Wondering how much difference there is at various RPMs.
Thanks!

Not a tech guy but I would say the higher the rpms the higher the fuel consumption, just a guess though
Not sure Merc releases that stuff, but I think there is a formula somewhere based on HP produced vs fuel consumed.
Why the hell would a baller like you care anyway?
:notam:
just a wild guess here but I think it will use more.
26% more.
If you can afford the motor, you should be able to afford the gas...
OK, I guess I need to be more detailed.
At 3500 RPMs, how much fuel does each motor consume?
At 4000 & 4500, same question.

Michael-
Leave your damn barge alone!!
you get your bimini top fixed yet?
Mike,
If you have a line on a couple of 525's and you change your mind, please let me know. I would love to upgrade to 525.
Based of the guys I run up and down the River with, who have 525's, the difference in fuel usage seems to be small.

If you have to ask then dont do it They both (HP500vs496 HO) gobble up the fuel I know that, seems about equal for me in the same boat also, but if you have a set speed you like to travel I know for sure the rpms are quite a bit less with the blue motor if that helps:idea: NSF>>> PS with one step up in prop size of course.
