I agree that the Dems aren't offering up much but then neither are the Reps. I thought I might like Thompson, but I don't at all. It looks like it will be Hilary and Rudy in 08, and probably Hilary in 09. I'm not thrilled about how this is likely to turn out. Hilary is definitely not Bill. You give your TX brother way too much credit, IMO.
Curious as to why you don't like Fred. I haven't been able to form a complete opinion but haven't ruled him out.
My personal choice as far as leadership and qualifications is Romney.
I have no real problems with Rudy that would keep me from voting for him but he certainly isn't my first choice.
McCain just needs to go away. I'd really have to plug my nose to vote for him.
But Thompson is still in need of dissection. He seems very much a part of the "DC System" at first glance. He and Rudy appear to be the most "electable" but I'm far from sold on either being Presidential material.
