Like alot of people will say "Stay with the good stuff"
If your going to run pump gas (Lake boat) You'll need Bluethunder 100cc heads.
If your looking to make over a 1000hp go with the A460 block. A stock block will work fine up to 900hp reliable... Yes some people are pushing will over 2,000hp with stock blocks (Filled) but they are for drag racing!!! Your not looking to do that!!!
    In my opinion,
Crank. get a good forged crank. I'd liked to have a CHEVY snout on it. The Ford snout is to narrow in my mind.
Heads. There are a ton of good heads for Fords. Your looking for a big CC head. Go with the Bluethunder, 100cc chevy exhaust.
    Rods, Good H-beam.
Go with Diamond pistons, the company will work with you on the CC's of the head, rod length, crank stroke and come up with a nice set of piston.
Blower DON HAMPTON!!! He is the best. He will set on the phone with you and help you from start to finish!! STAY away from BDS!!! They no nothing about Fords, they think Chevy's and that's it!!!
Intake. Don Hampton has some, he does use Bluethunder intakes
If you run a super chiller you wont need a short dist... Super chillers are cheap ins for a very pricey Engine!!!
This is mine in the works
572cui A460 block, 100cc Bluethunder (Charlie Evans port work)
    12-71 Hampton blower, Bluethunder intake.
Crank is a Sonny bryant billet 4.5 stroke. Still waiting for it to arive...
Custom timing chain cover.. They look and work great!!! ther is a ton of other stuff...
The pictures are of the mock up, the engine has a long way to go!!! Waiting on Jim Guthrie (Carbs) and My Bryant crank!!!
If you have any questions just ask!!!

THe blue thunder heads have a bbc exhaust flange so header choices are better.

Both are great looking Mills. I'll print out both suggested parts lists and take it over to my builder and see what he can do with them. Thanks and keep suggesting! I'm here to learn.

Here are links to two different types of covers
The first link is to Paul Kane, he is on this site and 460ford.com. His covers have a removable cam cover for adj/remove of the cam. I think his stuff is around $300 bucks

The one I have came from a guy up in Washington. This picture is of his stuff, twin 604 Fords in a Cig boat.

This is the link to the one I have. I think I only paid $269 bucks??? Not sure.

DAMN BlueOval, I thought my engine looked good, yours is positively SICK ! I regret not getting the 12-71 . I talked to Donny the other day, $500 more to get the 12 vs. the 8, what was I thinking ???
Question BlueOval, what are you driving with the camshaft ? Water ?
GAWnCA, I couldn't agree more with BlueOval, Don Hampton should be the only call you make when it comes time to order your blower. He does great work, and knows Fords well. He's also a Blue Thunder authorized dealer, so call him when you order up your B/T heads. He's about 8 weeks out from order to ship on the huffer, and the B/T heads can take a little while to get as well. Art @ B/T only casts 'em when he gets enough orders. Speaking of B/T's, those are the best Al heads on the market. VERY well engineered !!!

CP must have raised their prices or company supplier.

If your running a jet boat then the timing cover your looking at is not needed. The reason for this cover is so the V-drive boats can run the cam driven water pump.
    hope this helps.

If your gonna run a factory block I would recomend taking the extra time to locate a early block that has the machined center webs (thicker). They are out there in the full sized early 70's fords and take a aftermarket splayed four bolt cap much better than the "as cast" webbed blocks. I have seen early blocks go .080 over with good success and have plenty of deck to be taken down to zero deck clearance.
Im guessing for a blown boat mota your gonna want as stout of a bottom end as you can build, I would like to know everyones opinion on SCAT versus Eagle cranks. Im confused now in lieu of recent comments from a trusted machinist regarding SCAT cranks being softer material and harder to balance. I always thought SCAT cranks were better pieces.
