    I wouldn't spend the time investing in the 8.1 GM platform. GM will discontinue it in '08 and the aftermarket really hasn't "hugged" the engine opting to stay with the original BBC stuff. Being only built for around 8 years I feel this market will be like the the 93 to 95 LT4 SBC engine and be very limited with most opting to transplant BBC power into these original 496 platforms.
