Thread: allison trans fluid?

    what was that brand I heard about on here that is done at a allison dealer? trynsied or something like that? anyone done it? are you happy with it... and how much does it cost?
    my truck is creeping up on 36k so it's time for a change. and are there any places that do this in riverside / corona?

    The oil your refering to is castrol transynd. I used to be a mechanic for a garbage company and all our trucks had allison transmissions. The new owners that took over had us start useing transynd. We started haveing more problems than usual and didn't see any benfits. I'm a true beleiver in synthetic oils and I think you get the best results when they are used starting when the truck is new. You should be fine useing standard trans fluid. As long as you don't over heat the transmission. One thing you want to be careful of is not getting any water or excessive moisture in the transmission. It causes the clutch material to come off the steel clutch plates. I hope this helps.
