I had a Hondo flat yellow orange and black hull with a yellow BBC. As soon as there is any oil on the block from a leak or otherwise you better stay on top of it. If you want to keep it lookin good with out alot of touch up and cleaning go with a dark color.

The motor in mine and dad's Sanger is black right now(block and heads) but when dad turns the boat over to me permenantly I will be pulling the engine,rebuilding it for more HP and painting it red and silver.
Now the blower motors in my Dominator are painted lime green and yellow and I love the way they match the boat.
IMO, nothing looks worse than iron heads painted silver...Like you wish you had aluminum heads but dont...Thats a pretty boat and I think it would look nice with a red or black block, but please lose the silver! Get a scoop or something if you want to match the color scheme of the boat...

I painted the olds 455 in my yellow 76 sleekcraft yellow two summers ago. It came with the hardin marine aluminum finned valve covers and they look really painted yellow. the lighter color really helps to pin point oil leaks. I nick named the sleekcraft "Olds Yeller"

The Engine isn't yellow, but there is plenty of yellow there.
By the way Jim, this Flame arrestor is available if interested. Standard 4150 single carb.
