Thread: panther stator rings worn

Wintrerized the boat the other day and took the pump apart for some polishing and noticed my stator rings are pretty much nonexistent. The whole area is smooth. I know that this reduces my thrust, just wondering how signifcant it is. Is there ANY way to put a sleeve on it or fix this problem without having to replace the entire pump housing?? Anybody?

Hey Wrench. It's my understanding that those rings are really important as well. Give Tom at Jetboat Performance a buzz or Tony Skagen at Skagen Boats a call. both have alot of experiance with Panthers.
Good luck and how's the diverter working for you?

Wrench just curious is this something new ?(stator rings) If they are "worn away" you'll either have to replace the hsg or machine it out and "insert it". to repair same I suspect the lathe and mill work might exceed the cost of a new one? I don't have acess to Panther prices Tom

They've been worn for a while, but never realized how bad they were. theres a small groove all the way around that is threaded around it Im not sure what they're supposed to look like but there no rings on mine.
