Actually, I believe the book says 30-GPH at WOT. Rule of thumb (which matches) is HP/10 = GPH @ rated power. 300hp/10 = 30 GPH.

I think my jet does get better mileage than my 300:idea:

wow that terrible gph thats a $200 for one pracirce run ill be broke in less than a month.
any oppinons for a good tunnel of v bottom boat lookin for a project hull to set up witha an outboard to run at parker and local lakes no bigger than 20 and got maybe 8 -10 grand to spend total. mainly a project have for a year and sell.

Wazoo, how high are you running your gearcase? Propshaft centerline to the bottom of the boat directly in front of it? Are you running a low water pickup?

I once saw some guys running a V-8 Evinrude on about a 1960 Wooden Thompson boat. Looked funny seeing this HUGE motor sticking up. :jawdrop: I wish I had a picture!!!!!
