The Southern California Speedboat Club was proud to host for the 61st time the Thanksgiving Regatta at the Bluewater Resort & Casino in Parker, Arizona. The event sponsored by the Bluewater Resort & Casino, Bud Light, The Solder Joint, Parker Oil, Life Line Race Products, Mike Follmer Specialties, Shaker Shirts, Suncoast Framing, Casale V Drives, Jammin Jet Ski & ATV Rentals and RPM Racing Enterprises saw over 90 teams compete in this great annual event that kick's off the APBA 2008 Racing season. The wind wreaked havoc both day's but despite Mother Nature's best efforts the race committee was able to get all heats in safely.
Saturday night was the 2007 SCSC Awards banquet featuring all of the individual class SCSC hi-point winners the Western Formula Light Series, Western Pro Stock Racing Series, Grand National Racing Series championships.
Congratulations to all that raced and to all the winners from the great event! A huge Thank You from SCSC to all of our great staff, rescue and volunteers who make this annual event such a wonderful race. Also, a big Thank You to Ann Hoban, Kara Poe, Laurie (Dunlap)Hoban and Kelly Poe for organizing both the potluck on Thanksgiving day -(simply delicious) and the awards banquet! It takes a lot of work and everyone appreciates your effort and dedication.
Last, Thank you to all that donated to help Allie Hoban- at the race site over $1,000 was raised to help cover her MRI and neurological testing. The good news is that Mom Laurie's new job will cover the family health insurance in approx. 90 days. So again Thank You all for your outpouring of love and support for one our own!
