I'm selling a Casale v-drive for a friend on eBay. How do I determine the angle of the drive? Thanks, Rod.

I'm sure Mr. V-Drive will have a better answer, but pop the case open and look at the gears. You'll be able to see the condition and what ratio they are, along with the angle. These are 10 degree as noted:

There is also a way to tell buy the number cast on the outside. So post those.... I'm sure V-drive guy will tell you.. I would not pop it open unless you know what you doing.

If the numbers on the cases are stamped starting with 62 than they are 12* 61 are 10*

Very valid point. I usually tear stuff apart and afterwards realize that I'm over my head - but I generally learn a thing or 2 and know how to work on my own equipment when done. Looks like there's a way to tell from the outside based on the serial number.

Heres a recent thread (http://www.***boat.com/forums/showthread.php?t=170529). Pay particular attention to the advice in Posts 2 and 16.

I called Casale (562-906-4825) to give them the serial number and they told me to take the case apart to see what the gears were stamped. They said the serial numbers were in a bank in a vault and that they would be able to give me the numbers but it would take several days and for me to take the case apart to check the stampings on the gears.
I wrecked my quad over a week ago and trashed my left side (bottom of foot bruised, twisted/sprained ankle, gash in my calf, torn ligaments in knee, bruised hip bone, bruised shoulder, cut and bruised elbow, hand and wrist swolen - wear protective gear!) so I'm not going to take it apart. I'll call my friend who actually owns the piece and see if he's willing to take it apart.
    Thanks for the replies!

Figuring out the gearbox angle is not rocket science.
Go to the local hardware store and get an inclinometer. They're about $ 15.
Lay it on the input shaft and read the angle.
Lay it on the output shaft and read the angle.
The difference is what the gearbox angle is.
You can also do it with a protractor and a level.
