Left or Right Gears?

When running off the flywheel which gears R or L?

It doesnt matter. Just make sure you have the right rotation prop.:idea:

I've got a set of 48 in my Vector that screem (very annoying). They came out of a boat that was run off the snout. They were quiet running the other direction. Any ideas?

Flywheel driven-left hand gear & prop, crank snount driven - right hand gear & prop. But like Tony said you can use right or left gears just use the correct direction prop.

Gears will wear on the side that has a load on them. When you are changing the direction of rotation on the gear you now have gears that have wear on both sides of the gear and that is "Probably" the source of your gear whine! I know that when you back off of the throttle that other side of the gear gets A load but not the same as when you are hard on the throttle. My guess is that you have excess lash in the gear box. I dont have first hand experience with V Drive gear boxes but that theory sounds pretty logical to me.
