Thread: 1" shorty / vs 2" shorty

    i've got a 1" shorty on a 271 Formula with a 540ci at 5000rpm running a 30p l/h not labed @76gps by going to a 2" shorty about how much more could I pick up on speed , I do most of my running in Lake Michigan so I'am conserned about loosing some control running the 2" but do need to pick up the pace [m.p.h] :idea:

    I would suggest getting your prop labbed. Mercury Racing did my 32 B1 and I gained 3.5mph on GPS & 300 rpm. If your close to your redline, add a pitch for the labbed. This should get you about 80! Then you don't have to worry about handling. It cost me about $425.
