but you have a tunnel, completely different now so we can't compare the two.
    HBjet Why is that??

Omega, can you build a 514hp motor to turn 5600 rpms giving a speed of 92mph in a 19' 600-650lb hull with full interior and 20 gallons of gas? Oh, and all steel motor, no alum.
HBjet I've got a 2000 + lb hull with full interior, probably closer to 3000 lb wet running 89mph with 600hp. I'm only seeing 5400rpm though but it is an AA impeller. I don't think 90mph with 500hp in a 600lb boat would be that difficult with a well setup pump. I like your avatar. Is that your rig running?

572, did you weigh you hull? I was talking to Marty "Stretch Limo" and his 21' standard layup daytona weighed 1200 lbs without motor and interior. Pump was still in it though. Does that sound about right with yours?

HBjet Why is that?? Um, a tunnel boat will always run faster then a semi V boat with the same, and even less HP.

Nice avitar 572 Thanks blown...was playing around with some video editing software and came up with that.
I may have a tunnel but because of the weight of the hull I'm riding a lot wetter than your boat is at speed, just what difference would the tunnel make if that was the case?

HBjet why not? I have a 1700lb boat and your's is 600lbs. you seem to compare them quite a bit. WTF you never heard of a double edged sword?

572Daytona, you sure your 572 isn't making more than 600 hp? That's a pretty mellow motor! Of course, it probably starts and runs every time you go to the lake, which is more than I can say lately! wink
Also, Eliminator lists 2200 lbs as the full-up weight with motor. You sure yours is 2000 lbs bare hull? That seems awfully heavy to me.

I believe those 21' daytona's air out really nice around 75-80mph.... so how can you compare the two? I know there is the weight, but if your packing air, and a V like mine doesn't.... I just don't see how you can draw a conclusion between the two since they are so different.

WTF you never heard of a double edged sword?Your hull alone, with nothing in it weights 1700 lbs and your running in the sixties with that motor? Pat yourself on the back then. That's good, but I highly doubt your HULL ALONE weighes 1700 lbs, maybe 700-900 max.

HBjet sounds like you need a tunnel to go with that hot engine then. may see triple digits then wink
