Also what about a Ride Plate. What is this going to do for me. I have a 1981 eliminator day cruiser, 460 berkley jet split bowl with the manual place diverter. Any info. would be greatly apreciated.

Once again.. I'm not a Jet "guru" in anyway but it's my understanding that..
The Ride plate adds some surface to that transom of the boat. What that enables you to do is "trim" the boat up further getting more of the hull out of the water (becuase it's now transfering some of it's weight onto the ride plate) and adding speed. I've also been "told" but I don't know how true that it is that it helps the ride of the boat in rough water becuase it adds length. Someone once said that it helps to smooth the water out before the jet, but I'm not really sure how what difference that would possibly make in performance.
The "rooster booster" I believe is similar to a diverter except it allows it to shoot the rooster at a much steeper angle. Typically all of these "diverters" are aimed at two points of gain. One you can trim the boat down which buries the nose for a smoother ride in the chop, and the second you can trim it further up making the contact patch on the bottom of the boat smaller and increasing speed. However as displayed quite frequently you can go past the "leverage point" with a diverter and actually begin to loose speed, but the side effect is the "roostertail" which alot of people like. Thus the reason prop guys refer to it as "A huge display of inefficiency." http://free.***boat.net/ubb/wink.gif
You might want to check with an actual jet guy to make sure the rooster booster is the same as a "diverter".. It's been my experience that the "goal" of all those things is the same. Jetovator, Place Diverter, Rooster Booster (and I think there's a couple of other ones..) However some work better then others for performance. If you'd like to know which one works best simply ask ChetCapoli and HBJet..
Chet will tell you the aggressor is cheaper and superior..
HBJet will tell you the place diverter is the only way to go and superior.

A rooster booster can only be used on a split bowl pump, it only gives you more hight on you rooster tail when it is all the way up, no performance increase, Jim, if you want one i have one for sale

A rooster booster is not adjustable it just gives you up or down like a wedge.

Hydro, You have one for sale? How much? and what do I need to also get if I put this on. Also is the roost boost the same as a wedge?
what about a droop snoot? Is the droop snoop give you more thrust to enable more speed making the jet work more efficiant. sorry for all the questions.

Well apparently I was wrong that the "Roost Boost" was similar to a diverter.. http://free.***boat.net/ubb/biggrin.gif
However I'll give it another shot here..
The "Droop Snoot" doesn't make your pump more efficient necesarrily, but what it does do is lower the thrust line. Perhaps a jet guru can explain why that is a good thing to do.. Becuase that's outta my league.. http://free.***boat.net/ubb/wink.gif

Sorry about the wrong stuff.. I'm a prop guy ya know so most of what I know about jets is just "heresay." Every now and again we will send a "spy" into the jetboat crowd to go pick up some more details that we can poke fun at in our secret meetings.. http://free.***boat.net/ubb/biggrin.gif

A heavy boat like a daycruiser would benefit from a droop snoot. As RD said it doesn’t make your pump more efficient but it will make your entire setup more efficient by lowering the thrust line. This will give you more bow lift on that daycruiser which will probably give you more speed. To add a shoe and ride plate you would have to remove your pumps intake which means the motor has to come out and it’s still a major job to get the sucker loose after that. If it were my boat I would go with a droop now and save up money for a diverter latter down the road.

Sorry LG. I re-read your post and I see that you have a diverter. Go with the droop and I think you’ll be happy with the results.
