Newbie looking for hints/tips

Hey guys,
I've been lurking the board for a few days, and I must say its a great one. Lots of info and nice people!!
Here's my query:
I'm looking to buy my first jet boat. I've been on the water since I was born, dad and two grandpa's fish like there is no tomorrow. Dad had a 16' Laser with a 200 Merc on it(man that thing flew) now has a 22' Skeeter with a 225 Mariner. Anywho, I can drive a boat and know about water saftey and all that. What I'm wondering is on jet boats, what are some tips and tricks yall have come across? And if someone could maybe explain some of the common terms, I.E. water injection, and maybe the cooling systems. What I'm basically looking for is any info you guys might have for a first time jetter.
I'll continue to search through the board learnign what I can, but anything yall can add to my knowledge base will be greatly appreciated!

What is the thing called that lets you adjust the rooster??

So the diverter steers the thing, and functions as a reverse?
Is the impeller housed in the bowl?

my 2 cents...get a subscription to "Hot Boat" mag...u can learn a tremendous amount of knowledge from reading it

Is the impeller housed in the bowl? Yes ,Yes and Yes ..... The diverter also controls trim . A droop snoot would fit between the bowl and diverter , IF I had one ! .. Finally ... a wedge goes in the area between snoot and bowl giving more options for angle adjustment on the nozzel , WHEW
