Thread: Help I'm Stuck! Removing Teleflex Steering

I'm trying to remove a Teleflex Back Mount Rack and Pinion steering assembly, so I can paint the boat.
I removed the wheel and center cap and exposed/removed the center nut but the hub will not slide off. Can not remove the three nuts off the back as the bolts are spinning inside the plastic bezel and you can't get to them without removing the hub and plastic bezel. I'm stuck.
Anyone had experience installing/removing these units?? Do I pull the hub with a sheave puller, I did not want to try this unless it is for sure how it comes off. I need help as I do not want to damage it as it is in perfect condition.

I pulled mine off several times. I just have an el cheapo steering wheel puller. I suppose a gear puller would work too, if you have a place where the jaws will hold.
