Which is a better carb, a Holley 750cfm with vaccuum secondaries or mechanical secondaries?

Concensus seems to be that mechanicals are the way to go, but I suppose it's really in what you're comfortable with - double pumpers are slightly less complicated, but vacuum secondaries can be tuned to perform probably just as well, so the short answer is......if you can, try both and see which works better for your application - Good Luck!
It all depends on what you want. The mechanical secondaries are easier to tune but can guzzle gas.
The vacuum secondaries are cheaper and a great carburetor when the know hows have been prepared for them...such as correct springs, jets, and vacuum passages.

The carb is 4160 Holley 750cfm and it was used for only two months by a guy at work here that had it on a pumped up street car that he ended up putting dual 400cfm carbs on a tunnel stack. He is selling it for $100 and a trade of my old 650cfm carb. Is it worth it?

Hell I'll give you $75.00 for the 650cfm...
Used 750 3310's 4160 models sell for $100.00 or so. 650cfms 4160 sell for cheaper.
